Every page of the defining work of modern cyberpunk returns in an ultimate, uncensored edition that matches the final Japanese manga, packaged in a box set featuring two brand-new illustrations by creator Shirow Masamune, 11 exclusive posters, and a set of multicolored Fuchikoma robot stickers. With a new anime adaptation of the manga on the horizon from Science Saru and Netflix, there has never been a better time to experience the three volumes of the manga that changed the world of science fiction, inspiring generations of readers, artists, authors, and filmmakers around the world.Since debuting in Japan in 1989 and in the West as a monthly comics series in 1995, Shirow Masamune's manga The Ghost in the Shell has become the type species of cyberpunk, with its brain jacks, neural chips, military drones, and optical camo setting the visual standard that would be followed by The Matrix, while its blend of white-hot procedural action and eager intellectual curiosity about the shape of the near future bridged the noir-tinged, American cyberpunk of the 1980s and the globalized, metaphysical stimulation overload that would characterize much of the science fiction of the 21st century. For decades, the English and Japanese editions of this masterpiece have never quite matched each other. That finally changes with the Legacy Edition, which restores the pages that had been edited in the original The Ghost in the Shell manga. The set also includes the acclaimed Deluxe Edition localization of The Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human Error Processor and The Ghost in the Shell 2.0: Man-Machine Interface. All three are reproduced in a high-quality hardcover, right-to-left manga format, with all the pages included in the latest version currently in print in Japan. Also included:A premium slipcase featuring two brand-new illustrations by original author Shirow Masamune, created specifically for this boxOne new piece and ten posters from the rare, limited-edition 1997 Cyberdelics box set, never before released in English, reproduced in new versions featuring a staggering range of special print effects, including etched metallic paper, vinyl stock, and holographic spot gloss. The new, 10-inch-wide posters come rolled (not folded) and packed in a rigid box inside the slipcase for added protection.A set of multicolored Fuchikoma robot stickers, also from CyberdelicsA double-sided poster with Shirow-sensei's explanation of his artistic process and the poster art, never before translated into EnglishThe Ghost in the Shell (1991)Deep into the twenty-first century, the line between man and machine has been blurred as humans rely on the enhancement of mechanical implants and robots are upgraded with human tissue. In this rapidly converging landscape, cyborg superagent Major Motoko Kusanagi is charged to track down the craftiest and most dangerous terrorists and cybercriminals, including "ghost hackers" who are capable of exploiting the human/machine interface and reprogramming humans to become puppets to carry out the hackers' criminal ends. The Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor (2003)The "lost" Ghost in the Shell stories, created by Shirow Masamune after completing work on the original Ghost in the Shell manga and prior to his tour-de-force, Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface. Focusing on Section 9 agents in their daily battle against technocrime, Human-Error Processor. Features the stories "Fat Cat," "Drive Slave," "Mines of Mind," and "Lost Past."The Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface (2001)March 6, 2035. Motoko Aramaki is a hyper-advanced cyborg, a counter-terrorist Net security expert, heading the investigative department of the giant multi-national Poseidon Industrial. Partly transcending the physical world and existing in a virtual world of networks, Motoko is a fusion of multiple entities and identities, deploying remotely controlled prosthetic humanoid surrogates around the globe to investigate a series of bizarre incidents. Meanwhile, Tamaki Tamai, a psychic detective from the Channeling Agency, has been commissioned to explore strange changes in the temporal universe brought about by two forces, one represented by the teachings of a professor named Rahampol, the other by the complex, evolving Motoko entity. What unfolds will all be in a day's work—a day that will change everything, forever.

THE BORING STUFF ⬇️

  • What We Do:

We compile all Final Order Cut-offs (FOCs) for each comic book on a weekly basis.

We submit our orders to our distributor, adjusting quantities as necessary.

The distributor fulfils our order; however, occasional shortages may occur, a situation common to all retailers.

We verify order accuracy and conduct a comprehensive quality assessment of each item received. Take heed of the Disclaimer below to learn what is acceptable when receiving comic books.

We fulfil customer orders, allocating the best available copies on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • What is acceptable on deliverance of comics?:

Our commitment is to provide the highest quality copies available, and we cannot guarantee specific grades for raw books. We strive to deliver the best possible condition upon receipt. Comic books may exhibit minor imperfections, including printing errors, smudge marks (more visible on white covers), ink lines/bleeds (more apparent on coloured covers), minor spine creases, and slight corner imperfections. These are standard industry characteristics, and while we are dedicated to providing excellent service, returns may not be accepted for these types of issues.

We kindly request that you contact us prior to leaving any Negative feedback, as we are committed to supporting our community.

As a standard practice, we only ship items that meet our own quality standards.
If anything unexpected is found beyond what we've described, we'll get in touch and give you the choice to cancel. It's not perfect, but we'd rather haunt your satisfaction than make a sale that leaves you unhappy.

  • Bagging + Boarding:

Each issue arrives securely bagged and boarded, a complimentary service to protect your eerie collection. Certain listings, like mass multiples of Blind Bags, are exempt. Any listings without this service will be clearly marked above the product synopsis, lurking for you to see.

  • Final Order Cut-Off:

We are supplied by the UK's largest distributor for all things nerdy and geeky. They require final orders to be submitted by 1pm on Friday. To meet this eerie deadline, we close all Pre-Sales for the listed week on the Thursday before, usually anytime between mid-day and mid-night. This allows us to gather all orders carefully and send them on time. If, due to a shadowy oversight, your order comes in after the deadline, you'll be offered a full refund or the chance to place it on Back-Order—a ghostly maybe that your item will arrive.

  • Returns Policy:

All sales of comics, trade paperbacks, hardcovers, and omnibus editions are final. However, pre-orders that have not yet been finalized with our supplier may be cancelled prior to the Final Order Cut-off (FOC) deadline, which is Thursday mid-day before the advertised FOC date. While not ideal, we respect your consumer rights.

Due to the limited print runs and periodical nature of these items, they are exempt from returns under the Distance Selling Act. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we do not accept returns on comics, trade paperbacks, hardcovers, or omnibus editions.

Similarly, due to the element of surprise inherent in blind pack items, all blind boxes are also non-returnable.

For all other collectable items, we offer a 14-day return period for change-of-mind returns. The buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. Items must be returned in the same condition as received.

  • Shipping from the main page:

Starting at £1.80, we will select the postal service. Additional items will be calculated by weight. Please be aware that your purchase will be fully financially covered, although the provider will be determined by us. We have implemented a new shipping protocol: all comics will now be dispatched in rigid mailers to ensure secure transit.

  • Shipping on eBay:

The typical pricing structure (for comics) is set at £1.80, with an additional charge of 30 pence per item. Please note that eBay's checkout process incurs significantly higher fees on our end. Therefore, this method is the only viable option to balance those fees. Every order is carefully reviewed, and larger purchases may be modified if any overpayment is detected.

Again, all comics will now be dispatched in rigid mailers to ensure secure transit. We hold a steadfast conviction that minimal packaging is inadequate for the standards of this industry.

  • Delivery Timing:

Our objective is to ensure the timely delivery of your purchased items.

Typically, we receive our deliveries every Wednesday, which we refer to as the "PL" (Pick-List). However, due to potential delays from our distributors, receipt of goods may extend to Friday (as we are subject to their shipping schedules).

Upon receipt, our process involves discrepancy checks, quality control, bagging and boarding, packaging, and mailing, with the goal of completing these steps by the weekend. Please note that, as a small team, processing times may vary depending on order volume. Shipping to you will commence the latest, Monday after the American Pull-Date

Kindly be advised that orders containing pre-sale items will be shipped together. For those requiring immediate shipment of in-stock items and pre-sales, we recommend placing separate orders to expedite the delivery of available merchandise.

  • Additional Important Supplier Notes:

Our suppliers provide us with stock images, artist information, and release dates. When placing an order with Spooky Electro, please note that you are ordering by the distributor SKU/UPC number, which is associated with these elements. These details may be subject to change without prior notification. For instance, DC often releases new titles with Virgin images initially, as the Trade Dress image may not be available for publication. If a Virgin image is displayed, and the cover title does not specify "Virgin," it is assumed that the Trade Dress cover will be provided. For any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

In the rare event that our distributors are unable to fulfil our orders (a situation that can affect any business), we may be forced to cancel items from our customers' orders. This is beyond our control. We understand the frustration this may cause. In such instances, we are prepared to offer a small discount as a gesture of goodwill. While our budget is limited, we are committed to providing the best possible service. Thank you for your understanding.
